Programing for beginners?

edited August 8 in Miscellaneous
Hello guys!
I'm new at this large world of programing and coding and I will like to start with the basics. Do you know any guide for beginners? I would like to learn a lot about this field. Please share your experience!

  • First, you should decide what you want to learn. There are many different things you can code and program. So, first set a goal and then look at these guides:

    - https://www.codeschool.com/

    Have fun learning :D
  • I use Codeacademy everytime I need to learn a new language, I recommend you the Python course, it's great for someone who's totally new to programming

    https://codecademy.com/learn

    Cheers! And have fun coding
  • Are you totally new to programming and the ideas of things like IF and FOR statements? If so then like it has been recommended above, I would begin with a site like Codecademy. I haven't used them myself because I learnt Python whilst I was at college and I looked at other users codes to learn the tougher parts of the Python language. I wouldn't say I'm a professional but I am pretty decent with coding. It also depends on your learning style really. I learnt by looking at Python code, modifying it and figuring out what everything did.

Python is a pretty good language to start with if you are still deciding which one to learn ;)
  • So many sites online you can register to get started. So just check out the site you would blend with.

I will recommend you start with BASIC.you will better off if you start with the less complex ones.

I'm a beginner too, I wish to learn and these sites look really good. I'll be reading all the information they have. Thank you so much for sharing.
Programming it's so hard and complicated, it need so much practice, dedication, time and constancy.
  • Thanks for the replies guys, I really appreciate experts like you take some time to teach a newbie!
  • I started learning programming on Codecademy, it's probably the best site if you're looking for a quick way of learning the basics. If you want to pursue web development I would highly recommend using FreeCodeCamp, you're going to learn a lot and also build projects.
  • I would highly recommend CodeAcademy as they teach you step by step from the beginning the process and the ropes of how to code in a variety of different computer languages. Spend an hour or two a day on the site and your knowledge of coding will improve immensely!
